Well, <i>universally </i>in Japan and just <i>probably</i> everywhere else.  Or perhaps my Italian isn't as good as I thought and in that sushi place in Milan they were honestly confused about whether I'd asked for warm <i>sake</i> or  warm <i>dishwater</i>.  Yechh!  I should have stuck to the coffee.
